How-to

Create Scatter Plot online

Here you can easily create a scatterplot online by selecting the variables you want to graphically display.

Scatter diagram

With a scatterplot, also called point cloud, pairs of values are plotted in a diagram. The goal of scatter charts is it to represent connections of variables graphically. Hereby it can be recognized fast whether there are dependencies between the variables. If more than three metric variables are clicked on, a bubble chart is provided.

When to use a Scatter Plot?

A scatter plot, also known as a scatter chart or scatter diagram, is a type of plot or chart used to display the relationship between two quantitative variables. The chart consists of a set of points, each represented by an x and y coordinate, where the x coordinate represents the value of one variable and the y coordinate represents the value of the other variable. The points are plotted on a Cartesian coordinate system, and the pattern of the points can reveal the relationship between the two variables.

Scatter plots are useful for identifying trends, patterns, and outliers in the data. They can also be used to explore the relationship between two variables and to identify the strength and direction of that relationship. The scatter plot can be used in many fields such as economics, statistics, social sciences, engineering, and many more.

Scatter plot can also be enhanced with additional information by adding trend lines, regression line, and confidence intervals. Additionally, the plot can be colored or shaped based on a third variable to show more information.
